Taos DIgs and Museum

In Taos New Mexico we stayed in this little casita for a couple of nights. It was nice to have a real frig and freezer, a bathroom, a washer/dryer and an outdoor patio. I have a couple of photos of the interior, including the little kiva (fireplace) in the living room, but I'm having a helluva time loading photos into Blogspot using the wifi at the Santa Fe Library, where we are now.  So I'm going to send this to you and then quit posts for a while until I find a better place to connect.

This is the fireplace in the Taos Art Museum, a magnificent private home built by a Russian portrait artist who came to Taos to find relief from TB. After his death, his family provided Taos with the home to use as a museum. All the beams, doors, furniture and other wooden features inside are hand carved.
This was the master bedroom. Very large with lots of light.

I wish I could add more here, but it's too frustrating to keep trying unsuccessfully to load photos.

To catch up to current location, we had a great time in Taos and then we headed south for Santa Fe, where we are now. After spending 4 days in Santa Fe, however, I can't really bear the sight of any more silver and turquoise jewelry, carpets, cowboy boots, cowboy hats or other craft-type stuff.  I'm on overload. So tomorrow we're leaving for Bandolier National Monument Park where we'll camp a couple of days and spend our time hiking.  As in the campground in Santa Fe, we will be so remote we won't have cellphone service, and certainly no wall plugs for wifi for my Mac. So I'll get back to posts when I can...
